Wake-up…to the Somerset Waste
Action Programme
 
Getting the message over to schoolchildren to reduce, reuse and recycle waste is an important part of the waste management strategy in Somerset. As such, the Somerset Waste Action Programme (SWAP) has been created to provide talks, workshops and information - all free of charge.

The team comprises of a group of dedicated Officers, who visit schools and community groups to promote waste minimisation, reuse, recycling and composting. They are based at the Carymoor Environmental Centre at Dimmer, near Castle Cary. The team provide a professional, adaptable service to support the waste services provided across the County.

SWAP can provide you with activity ideas to run with your youth group. Just get in touch to see how we can help. We will be posting a number of resources and activity ideas on this page in the near future.

 

Special Events…
 

The team attend and organise community events to raise awareness and provide facilities for people to get involved. From fairs to recycling roadshows, the team cover Somerset to spread the message!
