In 2009 Somerset Waste Partnership became the first local authority organisation to publish comprehensive details of what happens to your recycling once it has been collected. It shows that 99% of materials collected for recycling are recycled and that over 90% is recycled here in the UK.

The End Use Register is now being adopted by other councils in the UK and has inspired a Private Members Bill which, if passed into law, would require local authorities to publish the same information.
