Recycling depot leaves Cattle Market
The waste and recycling vehicle depot that has operated from Taunton’s Cattle Market on a temporary basis for the last two years has now moved to its new home in Walford Cross.
May Gurney, who operate refuse and recycling collections under contract to Somerset Waste Partnership, moved out of the Cattle Market on Tuesday 30th June.
“May Gurney know the Cattle Market is scheduled for redevelopment, so have been planning the move for some time,” explained Councillor Tim Slattery, Somerset Waste Board member and portfolio holder for Taunton Deane Borough Council. “The new site is better placed to serve this part of Somerset and still close enough to Taunton to support the local economy, so this seems the right move to suit the organisation and the community.”
