All collections these weeks will be one day later than usual.
i.e. Monday collected on a Tuesday, Friday collected on a Saturday.
Compost Awareness Week Roadshows & Competition

Compost Awareness Week is being celebrated nationally from Sunday 4th to Saturday 10th May.  The aim is to encourage more people to recognise the benefits of home composting.

There are a number of compost roadshows during the week:

Thursday 8th May - 10am until 3pm - Sanders Garden World, Highbridge

Friday 9th May - 10am until 3pm - Monkton Elm Garden Centre, Taunton

Saturday 10th May - 10am until 4pm - Cannington Wisteria Festival

WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) are once again running their "Golden Bin Competition".  Residents who place an order during the week for one of the local authority promoted compost bins will be eligible for the chance to win £50 worth of garden gift vouchers.

Somerset cricket stars Marcus Trescothick and Neil Edwards launched the 'Pledge to Recycle' campaign. The cricketers pledged to recycle their waste.

Currently we recycle 47% of this waste, much higher than the national average of 27%, but we want to go higher! Somerset is aiming to recycle half of it's household waste - so we need everyone to 'Wake-up-to-Waste'! and work together to meet and exceed this target.
