The SWAP Awards 2008

SWAP Awards 2008

In the summer of 2008 we will be holding a Celebration Event to celebrate the best work done by schools during the academic year. This is a great way to gain recognition for the environmental work you’ve done in school, whether you’re just starting out or whether you’ve been doing it for years! There will be awards for the following categories:

  • Best waste project
  • Best energy project
  • Best environmental film
  • Recycling champion award (for an individual)
  • Special achievement award (to be nominated by SWAP staff)

If you would like to enter your school for one or more of these awards then you can download a submission form (see below).

There will be an awards ceremony held in the summer term for the shortlisted schools. The awards are open to all schools in Somerset and the deadline for submissions is Friday 6th June 2008.

About SWAP...

The SWAP team is based at the Carymoor Environmental Centre near Castle Cary. This unusual site is Somerset's first Eco-Centre , and is built on a capped, recovered landfill site. It is situated next to the working landfill at Dimmer, putting the team in a unique position to explain and promote these themes in schools. Site visits and tours are also available by arrangement; please contact Graham Jennings on 01963 350786.

To book a visit to your school or community group, contact SWAP on 01963 351350, or email rf.swap@carymoor.org.uk
