The Council provides a clinical waste collection to private households. Clinical waste is any waste which poses a threat of infection to humans. The term also includes drugs, sharps or other pharmaceutical products.
What is clinical waste?
It means any waste which consists wholly or partly of:
- human or animal tissue;
- blood or bodily fluids;
- drugs or other pharmaceutical products;
- swabs or dressings; or;
- syringes, needles or other sharp instruments;
There is no charge for removal of clinical waste from domestic properties.
